When a brain tumor diagnosis hits, the ground is pulled out from beneath your feet in an instant - whether you are the patient, a family member or a friend.
Suddenly, you are confronted with overwhelming uncertainty and questions such as: Where do we go from here? What does this mean for us? What is the right treatment and do we have the energy for it? How much time do we have left together?
Yet experience shows that over time, something remarkable often happens. The initial shock subsides, your strength gradually returns, and you begin to reclaim your daily life with renewed courage, hope, and vitality. Eventually, your entire perspective may even shift as you learn to cherish life in a completely new way - more consciously, deeply, and fully than ever before.
However, this journey is rarely a straight line. It is filled with ongoing questions, challenges, and setbacks. In those moments, it makes all the difference to have people by your side who are walking a similar path and truly understand what this diagnosis means.
Driven by the belief that no one should walk this path alone, we founded KopfSache*, a life-affirming network by and for brain tumor patients and their families in the Rhein-Sieg area and Bonn.
*A note on the name - for the non-German speakers 😉: KopfSache is a German wordplay that combines two meanings—„Kopfsache“ (an idiom meaning a matter of mindset/mental approach) and „Kopf-Sache“ (literally a matter of the head/brain).
